Why this sandbox exists

Aesthetic surgery consultations still rely on words, before/after galleries of other people, and the patient's imagination. The gap between what the patient pictures and what the surgeon plans is where disappointment starts. Seeing a realistic 3D preview of their own body closes that gap. Today, that means expensive dedicated scanners.

The proposal

The idea

A few photos taken with an ordinary phone are enough to fit a 3D body model (SMPL-family) and a 3D face (FLAME). The patient and surgeon can then rotate the avatar and apply effects with sliders: breast volume, liposuction, abdomen, buttocks. Everything runs on controlled infrastructure, since consultation photos are among the most sensitive images a patient can share.

Goals

  • Photo-to-3D body fitting from 1 to several smartphone shots (no depth sensor), refined across views with silhouettes
  • Real-time 3D face with the same slider logic
  • Effects defined as morph targets, one per procedure, with bounded and explainable ranges rather than a generative black box
  • A viewer that turns left and right with side-by-side before/after, usable in a consultation on a phone or tablet
  • A privacy-first pipeline: no photo stored or sent to third-party services
